Great analysis, as always, Richard. Next up, social responsibility re worker/factory conditions, sustainability, etc. As you say, this start "holds out hope."

Hi Richard,

With the Indian economy growing faster than Chinese, the Indian manufacturing hold promise for the toy industry. There is no problem of communication as English is spoken through out India. Few of them I know have shifted factories from China to India and others are exploring. Currently India may far behind the manufacturing facilities and capabilities. But if India can manufacture world class cars why not toys? Hasbro set up factory in 1987 with their joint venture partner and manufactured moulded toys, board games and even now Jenga manufacturered in India is exported to Hasbro. Time is right now for the shift to take place.
I am a toy consultant and do not have personal URL. I consult for Odyssey whose URL has been mentioned.
